Why Lockdowns are Inefficient & Immoral

To begin with, Ziad has made it clear that what works in isolation need not work in the real world. In isolation, we have control over all the other factors, but in the real world, there are so many factors (like age, immunity, population density, number of congregation spots, economic liabilities, general hygiene, testing accuracy, doctor availability, and so on to name a few), that the factor of precaution taken by masks, social distancing, and lockdown protocols may be rendered utterly useless. Evidence shows that this is indeed the case.
Especially in the US, the data scientists found no correlation to the lockdown and the rate of infection. In other words, given the data of the infection rate, no lockdown preacher could predict which states had lockdowns and which didn’t (if they didn’t know that already). More the severity of lockdowns, the lesser must be the infection rate (if one were to believe that lockdowns work) — But the reverse is what they found. “We have been told to listen to science! I say enough! Yes, it is medically advised to stay indoors just like it is advised to exercise regularly, but one shouldn’t make a law out of medical advice”, says Ziad.
Experts should have no say on a person’s economic liberties. To make a law that one must exercise every morning is analogous to what’s happening with locking down the country. No one is humble enough to accept that one really doesn’t know what’s happening, yet all are arrogant enough to command what one should do and not do to earn one’s living. Why isn’t any economist consulted on the issue of lockdown? We only hear from the CDC and WHO.
The Great Barrington Declaration signed initially by Harvard, Oxford, Stanford, and other prominent institutes’ epidemiologists saying specifically that they are against the current lockdown policies adapted by all the governments worldwide has now become widespread. You know, these are the scientists and experts that we were told to be listening to. Why is anyone not even mentioning this? It is abundantly clear that people wanna hear just what they wanna hear.
A United Nations report in April warned that economic hardship generated by the radical interruptions of commerce could result in hundreds of thousands of additional child deaths in 2020. The report further warned that 42 million to 66 million children could fall into extreme poverty as a result of the crisis. This was ignored completely by the lockdown propagandist.
Honestly, the lockdown has almost turned into a religion. The experts who point out the problems with lockdown are completely ignored. It is as if the world has to deal with only one problem — Covid 19. The rest are dispensable. That’s how conformist we as a society have become. Usually, these lockdown propagandists come up with the claim that had it not been for the policies, it would have been even worse. Except, there is no way to test that.
Ziad believes and with sound reasons that it is cruel to base one’s whole theory over which many businesses depend entirely on an unfalsifiable claim. The old saying is true now more so than ever — “There are three kinds of lies: lies, damned lies, and statistics”.
